Week Four!

We visited the school garden behind YES this week to see the positive impact our composting practices have on the world around us!

We also harvested the carrots in our garden beds at Rowe!  These are the carrots these first graders planted as kindergarteners late last year! Students drew, harvested, weighed, and then delivered the carrots to the cafeteria!

We are reading long and strong in room 108!  We're also practicing lots of good reading habits with every book we pick up, like scooping up words into phrases as we read!

We've also started working on comprehension while reading.  Students each filled out their first text-to-self connection sheet to practice writing about their reading.  Ask your child to show you his/her completed sheet!

We learned all about honeybees and their important work in nature!
